LACCD Nourish Fund: Meeting Today’s Needs, Sustaining College Dreams

Launched during the pandemic and reactivated to respond to the current moment, the Nourish Fund allows us to respond quickly to crises, while also supporting solutions that address the root causes of hunger, housing insecurity, and basic needs insecurity for LA’s community college students.

Every day, students across the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) are balancing classes, jobs, and family responsibilities while struggling to afford groceries or other basic needs. 73% of LACCD students work while in school, over half report food and/or housing insecurity, and one-third are parents.

Meeting Students Where They Are

At the Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges, we believe no student should ever have to choose between buying food and pursuing their education. We’re here to make sure that every student has access to the essentials that make learning possible — a full stomach, a safe place to sleep, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone cares.
