Support LGBTQ+ Students and Allies Across LA's Community Colleges

Help us build a future where every LA Community College District (LACCD) student can thrive, no matter who they are or who they love.

Too many LGBTQ+ youth face barriers on their path to higher education. Whether it's family rejection, economic insecurity, housing instability, or mental health challenges, the road to success is often steeper for students in our queer and trans communities. However, community colleges are uniquely positioned to close these gaps.

This is why we're launching the Thrive with Pride Scholarship Program, a permanent scholarship supporting students across LACCD’s nine community colleges who are committed to uplifting LGBTQ+ communities through leadership, advocacy, and service.

Our Goal: Raise $100,000 to establish a permanent scholarship endowment that will fund scholarships across LACCD in perpetuity.

Give Now for 1:1 Match!: All donations made through December 31, 2025 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by an anonymous donor, up to $25,000. 

Who This Scholarship Supports
The fund is open to all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Applicants will be selected based on their demonstrated commitment to building community and advancing opportunity for LGBTQ+ people.

Whether it's a nursing student hoping to provide culturally competent care, a future educator creating affirming classrooms, or a young entrepreneur building inclusive workplaces, this fund invests in those who invest in others.

Why It Matters

• At higher risk for discrimination, harassment, and isolation
• Less likely to have access to family financial support
• More likely to interrupt or drop out of school due to mental health and safety concerns
